Going to wear lighter jeans though (was just too lazy to change out of these)
Who else is doing a Doctor Who themed costume?
The thing that pisses me off about most Martha hate is that it seems like it’s coming from people who don’t understand that the show is based of of change.
I mean, they change places, times, TARDISes, companions, even Doctors, all the time. So of course Martha isn’t Rose. And…
So much truth. And that gif <3
(I like to think that all of us who defend her -rightfully so are in fact the Martha Jones Mafia, we should get shirts.)
and she got to kiss him
and the Doctor, I am going to start keeping track of who she “hooks up with” or almost does…and that includes Shakespeare, she was close enough. So 3 down.
I’ve already reblogged this with all my fellow Martha Lovers defending her. But I can’t get over how pathetic this is that she’s going to keep track of her ‘hook ups’
AHAHAHAHAH.

Answer me a few questions: HOW was Martha trying to “get with everyone?” That is #1 not true. Kissing Riley Vashtee, was more of a solidarity moment than anything. WTF would you do if you thought you’d never see your family and friends again?
Question 2: HOW do you fee she’s trying to get acceptance from the Doctor? She proved herself on DAY ONE and continued to do so and SAVE the Doctor’s whiny ass on multiple occasions.

Question 3: HOW would YOU feel if you entered this man’s life when he was a broken shell of a person and you basically had to pick up the pieces even though he treated you like complete shit? And was a terrible person. I WOULDN’T SHUT UP ABOUT BEING A REBOUND OR JUST A PASSENGER WHEN THE FUCKING DOCTOR WON’T SHUT UP ABOUT ROSE. Imagine being constantly reminded and compared to someone else? SHIT DOESN’T FEEL GOOD.

Question 4: ARE YOU WATCHING THE SAME SHOW? I mean really. Taking forever to pick things up? UM FIRST EPISODE MARTHA WAS BADASS AND FOUND SOLUTIONS TO THE PROBLEM. Doctor: We might die. Martha: We might not. From there she went out to HELP her kidnappers in Gridlock, save the Doctor in 42 and The Lazarus Experiment (by sacrificing herself), take care of him in Blink and Human Nature/The Family of Blood when it was so fucking hard for her.
Oh and uh can you tell me why it’s important to keep TRACK of the people she “hooks up with?” How about you keep track of the people the Doctor hooks up with how about that? Because it doesn’t fucking matter. I’m sure you love Rose and think she’s God’s gift, but come on. I MEAN REALLY. This is just ridiculous.
I think you should take some time and read this article Might do you some good.
PLEASE check yourself before you wreck yourself, because Martha Jones is a muthafuckin’ hero who doesn’t take anyone’s shit. And neither do her fans. THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

What do Martha Jones, Tara Thornton, Guinevere, and Mercedes Jones have in common?
I hope it doesn’t just SEEM that way because I DO love her, she’s the shit and more people need to see that! Thanks for joining me! xx
Hello there! Thank you for the question! And I haven’t read either of these descriptions or critiques, but I’d definitely have to disagree on the assumption that Martha is a Mammy character. The Mammy character uses her skills and talents to benefit everyone but herself and that is not what Martha does in the slightest. To quote Melissa Harris-Perry, “At its core, that’s actually what the Mammy image is. It’s the idea that an African American woman might have skills, talents, and capacities, but they’re never put to use for herself. They’re never used to follow her own dreams or to nurture her own family or community. Instead, these skills, talents, and capabilities are always put to use assisting white women or white families. We see this pretty regularly deployed in contemporary media.”
Martha uses her talents to help the Doctor and even though he is angsty and treats her like shit, she still stands up for herself and ends up saving him on multiple occasions. Which I believe she does not only for the Doctor, but for her own benefit. And she was on her way to being a Doctor herself and that’s what doctors do they help people.
Another article about the series finale of Doctor Who (contains spoilers)
I don’t want a Doctor Who that, every time it paints itself into a corner, gets out of it by having River say, “The Doctor lies.” (Are we not meant to believe anything the Doctor says anymore?) I don’t want a Doctor Who that, every time it gets too timey-wimey, just brings in another time-traveling entity to jump right over the tangled webs.
